Four more Essendon players have gone under the knife, swelling to 13 the number that has had either late or post-season surgery.
Youngster Angus Monfries and big men Aaron Henneman and Tristan Cartledge have undergone shoulder reconstructions, while Andrew Welsh has had knee surgery for a patella tendon problem.
All four are expected to be ready to resume full pre-season training in mid-November.
Premiership stars Dean Solomon (right knee arthroscopy) and Dean Rioli (right knee), ruckmen Matthew Allan (right knee/patella) and Jason Laycock (knee/shoulder), Ty Zantuck (left knee arthroscopy) and Andrew Lee (groin tendon release) all had surgery before the completion of the season.
The Dons decided to send experienced players such as Solomon, Rioli and Zantuck in for surgery once it was clear the club would miss the AFL finals for the first time in eight years.
Earlier this month, forward Scott Lucas had surgery to repair damaged thumb ligaments, utility Mark Bolton had a foot operation and defender Adam McPhee underwent a groin tendon release to rid him of the referred pain he was feeling in his abdomen.
